Gamaliel mentions one Theudas,
who claimed to be somebody – an ass -
but he was killed, and then
Judas the Gal'lean
led his revolt during the census.
But, and here’s where it becomes a mess,
in the history of Josephus
this order is reversed;
he says Judas came first.
We have an historical impasse.
